I'm A Gamblin Man

Yes, it's true I am a Gamblin man...that is I use Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors almost exclusively. I've tried a lot of paint brands but I continue to return to Gamblin and their great line of colors. 

Why Gamblin?

Well I'm glad you asked that! There are a number of reasons:

1. The quality of the paint is superior.

2. Gamblin is concerned about artist's safety.

3. They have a great line of colors.

4. They look to the quality of the past with an

    eye to the future.

5. They are made in Portland, OR 

I'm looking forward to see what Robert Gamblin has in the works for the future.

Thomas Kinkade and the Plein Air Tradition

I am not a big fan of Thomas Kinkade's "Paintings of Light", however, his plein air work is very good. This is a good video discussing the tradition of painting en Plein Air. 

My Band 3 Way Stop

3 Way Stop is an acoustic rock originals band made up of three individuals: Bob Bean, Jim Bales and me. We've been together for about a year and a half or so and played several places around the Wellington, Kansas, area.

Oil Painters of America Western Regional Exhibit

Mardon' and I headed up to Topeka, KS this morning to see the OPA Western Regional Exhibit at the Southwind Art Gallery. Gary Blitsch and the folks at the gallery have done a great job of exhibiting over 100 pieces in their space. The exhibit will be up for a couple of more weeks so please take the time and make your way to Topeka to visit Gary and the staff at Southwind. Tell him Skeet sent you.
